British Columbia Province Nomination Program
British Columbia is one of the most beautiful provinces located on the west coast of Canada with incredible economic growth and labor force. Foreign nationals looking to earn permanent residency status in Canada can choose to apply through the BC PNP program.
In the year 2021, BC PNP has issued approx. 12,000 Invitations for PNP nominations and as many as 44,899 immigrants got BC PNP approval in the year 2020 from around the globe. This program welcomes immigrants in various sectors such as skilled workers, sectors with labor shortages, entrepreneurs, and investors.
The BC PNP accepts applications under two main immigration categories:
- Skills Immigration (including Express Entry British Columbia)
- Business Immigration
British Columbia Province Nomination Program launched the new SIRS through which applicants can be nominated based on their total score.
Total score can be calculated using different factors such as Level of education, Years of work experience, and an employment offer from a BC Employer— that reflect an individual’s ability to succeed in the labor market and contribute to the provincial economy.

BC PNP Skills Immigration / BC PNP EE
BC PNP Skills Immigration / Express Entry mainly aims at bringing migrants who will help contribute to the improvement of the labour market in British Columbia. Applicants can choose from either of the 5 streams
- Skilled Worker
- International Graduate
- Entry Level and Semi-skilled
- Healthcare Professional
- International Post Graduate
BC PNP Tech Pilot
Technology sector workers willing to immigrate to Canada with a similar job or role can choose to apply through this program.
BC PNP Entrepreneur Immigration Program
Foreign business owners and investors with relevant experience can apply through the Entrepreneur Immigration Program. There are 3 streams to offer
- Regional Pilot
- Base Category
- Strategic Projects
Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot
Another gateway for immigration to British Columbia is the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot. Through this program, the province looks at bringing more economic development to the rural and northern communities of Canada.
Vernon and West Kootenay are the communities in British Columbia that allow for the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot. It also exists in other provinces like the Prairie Provinces of Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, and Saskatchewan.
In case, the candidate is willing to apply for the Permanent Residency, applicants are required to have a valid job offer and recommendation from the community.
